Getting Caught Up

Getting a bit behind on the calendar postings. Here are days 10-12. Also you can see how/ where I've been hanging them. I just glue gunned the images to a piece of ribbon then tacked that ribbon up on my door.
Only 13 days left!

The Ninth Day of Advent ...

Is really cold! I went with a few friends to the national Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the ellipse. We frooze our butts off! But it was really neat to see the President light the National tree. I'm really glad I did it, and even happier for the hot chocolate I had afterwards!

Today's image is a Christmas present! Cause, let's be honest, it's not Christmas without a beautifully wrapped present under the tree!

On the 8th day of Advent...

I choose a holiday wreath. Also worth noting that today is the feast of the immaculate conception. Ummm, that's about it for today.

This is What Happens When I Get Bored...

I make an Advent wreath!
Instead of fabric, I used pages of an old book. I added purple and pink ties and voila!

The Christmas Star

Its the star that shone bright in the sky to lead the wise men to the baby Jesus.

Oops!

Oops! I missed yesterday. Remember making these kinds of snowflakes as a kid? You fold a Pierce of paper, or in my case felt, into fours. You cut out chunks with your scissors, and then unfold for a fun snowflake shape!

The Fourth Day of Advent

Today we have an ice skate for our Advent calendar. Not much to blog about on the weekend,  but I wanted to make sure I kept everyone updated.

The Third Day of Advent

The third day of advent is a Christmas tree!

I realized yesterday not everyone knows what Advent is. Advent is the period of waiting before Christmas. Many Christian religions celebrate the season of Advent. Catholics mark the weeks with the use of an advent wreath, but more about that later.

How do you prepare for Christmas?

The Second Day of Advent

Today is the second day of advent. Next on the calendar is a Christmas candle. I cut all the shapes out of felt and hot glued them on felt squares. All the shapes are really simple, and this would be a great craft to do with kids.

Tis The Season

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging lately but my laptop decided to finally give out on me (it's been a bad week). However, that hasn't stopped me from enjoying the holiday season.  I decided I needed to make an Advent Calendar. Day one is snowmen,  please forgive the poor picture quality,  but I took It at night... with my camera phone.
